Why

You sold your soul for money

betrayed trust

calculating schemed

manipulated bullied blackmailed

i hope it is worth it

I know what it is to lose

all find yourself alone

staring at your own blank

disbelieving reflection

shell shocked how

did I find myself here

all I did was love

Poor but intact

clear conscience

did not sell soul to the

devil hell fire brimstones

not for me

Trust who can we trust

not even ourselves may

lose our identity mind

not even someone you’ve

known all your life trust

Jesus pray that is what

my eldest sis said I

laughed God does not

deliver food when hungry

that is what I need now

Why

that is what I want to ask

gazing into your familiar face

was it worth it

to sell your soul

30 pieces of silver

betray flesh and blood

i hope it is

for your sake
