Don’t assume

Never assume

you know someone

you don’t don’t

even know yourself

privy to own thoughts

mind can get lost amid

hustle bustle daily grind grime

murky messy grey areas

abound not for you the

clear black and white right

wrong absolute truth myth

akin to happy ever after

swallowed hook line sinker

since records began do we

ever know someone do they

let us in to deep recesses of

mind secret chambers of heart

do we even know

ourselves all that shine not

gold but allure dazzle razzle

tempt even saints down road

destruction greed sell

soul thirty pieces silver all that’s

required betrayal at its purest

finest Mastercard that will do

nicely cash debit cheque bank

transfer international money

order as long as it’s dosh hand

it over all welcome madam

have a nice day don’t

assume truth a lie we are

sold every second of the

day there is no absolute

certainty delusion

Don’t assume you

know someone you

don’t not even your

self mind lost round

corner waiting to be

picked up highest

bidder ebay auction

closes 5 secs hope

i go to a good home

with 42″ plasma and

sky

Don’t assume

murky messy myriad grey zones

abound surround confound profound

define

Don’t assume you

know

nothing

About cho wan yau

Teacher by day poet/writer by night. Words have been my first love and will be my last. As a child I locked myself into the toilet devouring books which transported me to distant lands. Poetry shared penned from 2009-2010 in a titanic struggle to stay sane at Heartbreak Hotel. Please check it out on chowanyau@wordpress.com. Any comments or feedback welcome. Why not share your story with me, because we all have one, don't we?
