It takes two

It takes two to tango

only one to break a heart live a lie

unawares trapped in a one way street

circling circling back to the same spot

maze of conflicting emotions

love hate anger despair

pale shadow of my former self

refusing to look into mirrors

risking a glimpse of the truth

opening pandora’s box

no way back

it takes two to tango

but i was always dancing solo

to your tune

now back on the dance floor

no strings attached

About cho wan yau

Teacher by day poet/writer by night. Words have been my first love and will be my last. As a child I locked myself into the toilet devouring books which transported me to distant lands. Poetry shared penned from 2009-2010 in a titanic struggle to stay sane at Heartbreak Hotel. Please check it out on chowanyau@wordpress.com. Any comments or feedback welcome. Why not share your story with me, because we all have one, don't we?

  1. Good lord. I swear a lot of your most recent posts I’d swear were being posted for me, Mama G.
I feel all of this. Or at least I once did.

  2. Does that mean you are on the road to recovery Jade? Recent posts just about universal human experience that’s why they resonate.
